Coming Soon: Online Courses, in Partnership with Praxis42 Limited
T8 is building a dedicated online course site and catalogue — and it's coming soon. We're partnering with Praxis42 Limited, IOSH Approved Training Provider 900, to bring a wide range of e-learning courses to T8 learners, ready to complete online at their own pace.
This sits alongside everything T8 already delivers face to face and via our own bespoke online courses — it doesn't replace it. Where a full classroom-based or tailored programme is the right fit, that's still exactly what we'll recommend. What this adds is a genuinely wide library of shorter, focused e-learning courses, available the moment a learner needs them, without needing to wait for a scheduled session.
"It's about having the right option for the right need," said Darren. "Some training genuinely needs a room, a tutor, and a group working through it together — that's not changing. But a lot of awareness-level training doesn't need that, and shouldn't have to wait for a course date. Partnering with Praxis42 means T8 learners get access to thousands of pounds worth of ready-made, IOSH-approved content, on top of everything we already build ourselves."

T8 Now a Recognised Trainer with the Association of Healthcare Trainers
Darren has been accepted as a registered member of the Association of Healthcare Trainers (AoHT) — one of the UK's largest non-profit membership associations for those training within the healthcare sector. T8 now appears on the official AoHT Members Directory, and Darren has committed to the AoHT Code of Ethics as part of that membership.

The AoHT brings together individual trainers, training providers, care providers, charitable trusts and professional bodies who've all agreed to the same standard of ethical, professional training delivery — covering everything from legal compliance and safeguarding to impartiality, professional boundaries, and honest representation of qualifications and experience.
"It's exactly the kind of standard I want to be held to," said Darren. "Being registered with the AoHT means committing publicly to a code of ethics I already try to work by — treating every learner with respect, being honest about what I'm qualified to deliver, and keeping my own knowledge current rather than resting on past experience."
To be clear about what this means in practice: AoHT membership isn't an accreditation of any specific course — that's what our Highfield Centre Approval covers. It's a public commitment to how training is delivered, not what's being taught. Between the two, T8's learners get both a genuinely accredited qualification where relevant, and the assurance of a trainer bound by a recognised professional code of ethics.

Two New Qualifications — Education and Training, and Delivering Training
T8 Learning and Development Ltd now delivers two further Highfield-accredited qualifications — the Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) and the Highfield Level 3 Award in Delivering Training (RQF). Both are genuinely Highfield-accredited and Ofqual-regulated, and both are built for people working in, or moving into, a training role — just at different points on that journey.
Education and Training is a proper introduction to the teaching role itself — roles and responsibilities, inclusive practice, and assessment principles, assessed through a portfolio of evidence. It suits anyone who wants to move into teaching or training in FE, independent training, or a local authority setting, or anyone already training others who wants a recognised qualification underpinning it.
Delivering Training is a shorter, entirely practical qualification focused purely on one thing: delivering a training session well. There's no procedure or regulatory theory here — it's built for trainers who mainly work with pre-prepared materials and want to sharpen how they actually deliver in the room, assessed through a real microteaching session and a self-evaluation report.
"They genuinely complement each other," said Darren. "Delivering Training is about the craft of standing up and running a session well. Education and Training goes a level deeper — the responsibilities, the inclusive practice, the thinking behind good teaching, not just the delivery of it. Between the two, and our existing Train the Trainer CPD programme, there's now a proper route through from 'I can run a session' all the way to a full underpinning teaching qualification."

We're Officially Approved — Highfield Centre & Tutor Approval Confirmed
Today, T8 Learning and Development Ltd received confirmation of both Highfield Centre Approval and Highfield Tutor Approval — the two approvals that together mean every regulated course on our site is now fully, officially Highfield-accredited and Ofqual-regulated.
Centre Approval confirms T8 as an approved training provider in its own right, meeting Highfield's requirements for quality assurance, assessment practice, and learner support. Tutor Approval confirms Darren personally as an approved Highfield tutor, qualified to deliver and assess against the Highfield qualification standards our learners rely on.
T8's official Highfield Approved Centre Certificate of Registration — Centre Number 46278, registered 28th July 2026.
"It's been a genuinely thorough process, and rightly so," said Darren. "Every policy, every procedure, every piece of quality assurance we put in place has been checked properly before this was granted. Knowing it's been tested and signed off means a lot more than if it had just been rubber-stamped."
Practically, this means nothing changes about how T8 delivers training — the same practical, business-focused approach, the same people, the same commitment to building courses around the company in front of us. What it does mean is that it's now official: every learner who completes a regulated course with T8 receives a genuinely Highfield-accredited, Ofqual-regulated qualification.
We've also used this as the moment to add a brand new qualification to the course list — Auditing (Level 3), a Highfield-accredited internal auditing qualification that applies across any management system, not tied to one specific standard. T8 Learning and Development Ltd Launches in Redcar
We're excited to announce the launch of T8 Learning and Development Ltd, a new Highfield-accredited training provider based in Redcar, delivering Health & Safety, Food Safety, Legionella, and a growing range of other workplace qualifications across the North East and Great Britain.
T8 is run by Darren and Tracey Tate. Darren leads every training session personally, drawing on 30 years of cross-sector manufacturing and management experience across glass, automotive, chemical, oil and gas, care, education, and engineering — so learners are taught by someone who has actually done the job, not just studied it. Tracey runs bookings, administration, and client communications, so there are no call centres and no hand-offs: you deal with the same people from your first enquiry through to your certificates being issued.
Every course T8 delivers includes the full qualification standard in full, with the option to tailor content to a company's own processes, values, and industry — something Darren felt was missing from a lot of generic off-the-shelf training.
"This business exists because we have a genuine passion for learning and development," said Darren. "We wanted to build something that actually reflects how training should work — practical, built on real experience, and shaped around the business in front of us, not a script."
