Education and Training
A genuine introduction to teaching — for anyone who wants to work, or already works, in further education, independent training, or a local authority training role.
What to expect
The Highfield Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is a genuine introduction to the teaching role — built for people who want to move into teaching or training, people already delivering training who want a proper underpinning qualification, and assessors who want a grounding in teaching itself. Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence covering roles, responsibilities, inclusive practice, and assessment principles, rather than a written exam.
- Understanding the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training, including relevant legislation and codes of practice
- Promoting equality, valuing diversity, and identifying and meeting individual learner needs
- Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
- Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches — planning, delivering, and evaluating a real session
- Understanding assessment in education and training, including feedback and record keeping
- The relationships between teachers and other professionals, and where the boundaries of the teaching role sit
Built around your company, your values and your processes
Delivered with reference to your own organisation's training context, alongside the full qualification requirement.
Who it's for
Anyone wanting to move into a teaching or training role in FE, independent training, or local authority settings, anyone already training others who wants a proper underpinning qualification, and assessors looking to add a grounding in teaching.
